1.
When the night starts to cry In the deepest depths of the cave that is your eye Every teardrop will echo like a million bells And the ocean will whirl inside your mind So surrender to your blindness Though it is tempting to see Everything is meaningless Except for you Take a swim through the womb Let the quietness dissolve the outside world Put the universe on hold, melt into a sleep Just don’t do anything at all And surrender to your blindness Though it is tempting to see Everything is meaningless Except for you
2.
You’re listening to me, but can you hear me? I’m trying to reach beyond this wall of fog You know me by heart But did you ever understand what I was saying? And I really don’t know what I should do now The wall is getting thicker every day I dug as deep as I could But I need you to make an effort And I promise, that if you do I’ll put a whole new light upon you I’ll show you the way I’ll be there with you when you need me And all you’ve gotta do is let me into your head You’ve got to believe, you’ve got to look into my eyes Yeah, all you’ve gotta do is let me into your head You’ve got to let me solve you instead Did you never feel like something was missing? Did you never feel you’re lost and need some help? The tears will dry up I’ll reach you and this will be over And I promise, that if you do I’ll put a whole new light upon you I’ll show you the way I’ll be there with you when you need me And all you’ve gotta do is let me into your head You’ve got to believe, you’ve got to look into my eyes Yeah, all you’ve gotta do is let me into your head You’ve got to let me solve you instead

Spilled Sea 05:58
4.
A pearl of the ocean / grows inside her shell Swiped off with the waves / with her story to tell She lands on the shore / to my old, drying eye She fills me with life / and I can’t explain why And I can’t let you sit there / all on your own I must make you see me / I’m also alone I’ll show you a secret path / to the land of your dreams One day I hope you’ll see / nothing is what it seems A leaf on the tree / she lives and she smiles She floats down the air / in the land of lullabies When she falls in my hand / and I still can’t explain I can’t miss her love / too much to contain I don’t know who you are / but you make me see Those things I’ve never seen before / you show them to me I know love, it’s so close / I could touch it right now Be my pearl waiting by / my leaf floating down
5.
The world is a plastic container And not the prettiest one We go around our incubator Searching for a sun And out of air one day Our corpses will fill the floor And they will all be so surprised What have they done this for? From here to ashes From life to death It takes a flick of the switch Just a matter of time The world is a jar of acid And we are little insects We race towards a wall And we’re too weak to break it They can replace the people They can replace us all They’ve already replaced some of you But you’re unsensitive From here to ashes From life to death It takes a flick of the switch Just a matter of time
6.
On the fifth floor People are born On the fourth People die Should this be read the other way around? Does it matter anyway? And all we do Is float through this ceiling But the ceiling isn’t but a floor And the end isn’t but a beginning And your words aren’t but what I hear But if you never hear me talking Then do my words exist Eventually?
7.
All the ones who used To breathe life into you Have left and gone away The ghosts inside your heart Keep floating down the hallways Forcing me to stay I can’t deny the truth You just don’t move their finger But I’m not free of guilt I know I need to live The clock is ticking for me To place my life in tilt ‘Cause this is a time of change Chandeliers gather dust And tables frozen deep All wishes comatose Life must be buried somewhere Evidence is gone The dirt must hold a rose ‘Cause this is a time of change Something prevents you from Just breathing normally But is it really there?
8.
Face First 03:06
Sometimes you need to fall on your face to feel your feet The moon uses the sun as a stepping stone And climbs the sky alone And sometimes if it gets a bit lonely It wishes if it could only Fall from up above and land on the earth, face first Sometimes you need to fall on your face to feel your feet And then the moon will run around and find his own to play with ‘Cause it gets lonely in the sky And the stars are small And sometimes if it gets a bit lonely It wishes if it could only Fall from up above and land on the earth, face first But if the moon tries to return He finds the sun has come again And now the moon can only watch As someone else takes his spot Sometimes you need to fall on your face to feel
9.
Excuse 07:01
Well, I guess we’ll just keep sitting here And thank each other for everything And say just how inobvious it is And maybe even know each other But I’m digressing once again I haven’t got much time And although each and every one of them’s delighting The sea was always full of fish So forgive me for my quick excuse And let me get out I’ve still got a zillion people like you That I don’t care about I’m sorry for being unfitting To your panorama view For not looking good on paper Or in general I’m sorry for interrupting For being late and not closing the door For being oblivious that you are here And for not really minding that But mostly I am sorry That you’ll have to excuse this For my sorrow is as fake as your forgiveness

about

Time of Change is Yann Selka's debut album, released on his own label Selka Music on January 1st, 2018. The album's 9 tracks have been recorded almost entirely by Selka in his home studio, where he managed every duty from lead vocals to mixing, through production and triangle. The songs have been written across the 3 years preceding the album's release - with two of the tracks being co-written with Yiftah Cooper, and one track arranged by their band Allergy.

Musically, the album is inspired by a very wide scope of genres - from 90's art-rock artists such as Chris Cornell and Jeff Buckley through the impressionism of Ravel and Debussy, the electronic sounds of latter Radiohead and folk singer-songwriting from Joni Mitchell, to Zeppelin-esque hard rock of the 70's.
